Hi, I'm so glad you've made it this far! Thank you for supporting me in my marathon journey.
As you already know, I am spending this year studying in Israel at Michlelet Mevaseret Yerushalayim (MMY). For me, this year in seminary is all about personal growth, building a deeper connection to Judaism, and working towards learning who I am and what I would like to accomplish. Part of this journey involves chesed, giving back by helping others. As part of my weekly seminary schedule I spend at least one day a week volunteering at a program that helps prepare meals for those who cannot afford it themselves.
A second chesed project I am embarking on is more science and health related. I am interested in biology and body processes, especially in learning more about what happens when there is a malfunction in the system. Recently, I was introduced to a disease called Epidermolysis bullosa (EB), a rare but serious genetic disease that affects the skin. After hearing about this disease, I have decided I would like to help raise money to fund research for finding a cure. This coming March, I will be running for Team Butterfly in the Jerusalem Marathon and would appreciate your support.
