Moshe Beiss' Page
Hi! My name is Moshe Beiss and I am from West Hempstead. I graduated from Rambam Mesivta last June and am now spending my gap year learning in Israel at Yeshivat Lev HaTorah. This year I will be running the Jerusalem Marathon in March with Team Butterfly! Team Butterfly is very special to me because it was created by my older brother, David. My brother was born with Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), and currently there is no cure for it. Even though EB has been difficult for David, with never-ending and relentless pain and using a wheelchair to get around, he has never let it stop him from living life to the fullest. David has played little league baseball, high school hockey, and participated in marathons. The words "Can’t Do" are not part of his vocabulary.
It is because of this that I have always looked up to my brother and see him as my role model. Throughout my childhood, David would frequently call me "Mini Me" because I would copy his every move. David shows me how to appreciate the life you are given and to make the most of your situation. David amazes me with his positive and humorous way of approaching all of life’s challenges. I am running for my brother. I am running for all the butterfly children that are afflicted with this disease. I am running to save lives and help find a cure.
I need YOUR help and support in order to reach our goal of creating an EB free world where children born with EB can live long, happy, healthy, and pain-free lives. Will you be a part of the cure and help save the lives of thousands of children affected by EB? Because the cost of doing nothing is too great.
Thank you so much for your support!
